MCPPP-Material Culture of the Prairie, Plains & Plateau
The planning committee for the 2024 conference is excited to announce the dates for the next MCPPP conference. We warmly welcome you to the 2024 Material Culture of the Plains Prarie and Plateau conference in Santa Fe, NM on Friday, September 27- Saturday, September 28. In addition to the conference, we are planning optional Thursday evening activities as well as optional group activities on Sunday so that you can make the most of your visit to Santa Fe.
REGISTRATION: The conference registration will be $150 per person if you register prior to June 1. If you register after June 1, the conference rate will be $165 per person. Conference registration fees can be paid in the following ways
Zelle: bank to bank transfer using the pay-to ID of: mcppp2024@gmail.com, please email mcppp2024@gmail.com with a confirmation of your payment (screenshot, etc) and completion of the attached registration form.
Check: Made payable to Vista Partners New Mexico and mailed to Vista Partners NM, 36 Vista Precioso, Santa Fe, NM 87507. Please print the attached registration form and mail it with your check.
HOTEL INFO: We have secured a fantastic hotel for the conference The Lodge at Santa Fe. Each attendee is responsible for making their own hotel reservation. The rates are $125 a night, an amazing rate for such a great property (see room photo below). The rate lock is available for the nights of Thursday, Sept 26 through Sunday, Sept. 29 (Monday AM Checkout) we have negotiated the special rate for these extra nights for those who wish to extend their trip to fully explore Santa Fe and take advantage of some of the extracurricular activities that the committee is planning outside of the general conference (more info coming soon). We are a group of people who enjoy studying historic Native American material culture of the Prairie, Plains & Plateau regions. We come from many backgrounds, from museum curators, art dealers and appraisers, and professors to bead-workers and hide tanners, and welcome anyone with interest in historic Native material culture to attend. Prior conferences have been held in Great Falls, MT, Lewiston, ID, Larned, KS, Rapid City, SD, Canyon, TX, Vancouver, WA, St. Ignatius, MT, Colorado Springs, CO, and several other locations.
